Happy Halloween!

 Happy Halloween! =)

dinner anyone?

dinner

 breakfast the next morning?

baked mac and cheese with bacon

So... I made salmon and quinoa for the first time the other night and it was delicious! I made some brussel sprouts and carrots to go with. After dinner I made an apple pie, or course I didn't make it all myself. I got someone to peel, core and cut the apples for me, which I must say made the process so much easier. =) Since it took awhile to bake, I just ate a little bit with my breakfast the next morning. And I baked my first mac and cheese ever! with the bonus of bacon! Delicious!! =D Now to start planning what I'll be making for dinner this week! yummm...

So awhile ago, I went to chi-town as mentioned before. Here is some of the food I ate! I got to eat some real nice cantonese style roasted pork! Which by the way is my favorite. =) I got served pomegranate juice with ice cubes in a fancy glass. Saw a dollar fish. Lastly I had hibachi for Sunday lunch!
Since, we're speaking of food, right now I'm making some dinner. Yummy! I'll post some pictures later.

...ethiopian...yummmm

Wednesday, we went to aster's ethiopian and tried it out for the first time. It was amazing I must say so myself. I loved how they put all our orders together on a plate and didn't even offer us silverware so we could get the real feel of how to eat the food. Using your hands to eat your food is always fun! =) I would definitely suggest this little hidden gem and go back.

Don't you just love the print of these dresses? Perfect for a Science teacher? They are just so adorable. I love the first one, and would love to have it so I can wear it to school!!! But alas, these dress are of course from anthropologie. So they are super expensive. =( But the holidays are coming!! So maybe I can get an early Christmas present?

last week i...

got my strawberry ice spilled on me
a southern belle and mud pie

his "blue steel" look

Ok, so this is my past week and weekend at a glance. He knocked over my precious Amy's Ice Cream treat and made my all sticky! It was so delicious too =(  And then I got some cupcakes at the end of the week from Sugar Mama's. It took me 3 whole weeks to give in, which is really good since it's just a few blocks from where I spend my weekdays. And then we have someone's "blue steel" look. Does this ring any bells for anyone? And lastly, I tried out a bbq place in Cedar Park with my family this weekend. It wasn't bad. I do want to go back with a few friends and try the migas 7lb challenge!

This morning when I left the house it was 56 and the high was 86. It sure does feel like fall right now and I don't want it to go away!!!!! Texas please stay like this, please oh please.

a cute little delicious looking pineapple

a sea of marbles

a secret garden entrance

pretty purple

some type of ginormous plant! (I'm thinking a veggie)

So this past weekend, I went to chi-town! =) Which was so nice. I got to go to the garfield conservatory. It was beautiful. They had all kinds of plants and fruits. Don't you just love the little pineapple?! I felt like it was teasing me the whole time! Saying, "Look at me! I'm so cute and delicious, just pick me and eat me cause I'm so yummy..." ugh, it was agonizing. And then the purple flowers reminded me of the talking flowers in Alice in Wonderland, and I felt like they were just going to start singing a song to me. This place is definitely beautiful, and if you ever get the chance you should check it out. Plus, it's free.

pictures are worth a thousand words

Aren't these photos just astonishing? These images are by Balaz Gardi, a photojournalist taking pictures with his iPhone of the 10 year war that has been going on. It is amazing what technology can do! These pictures were all taken with the hipstamatic app. I personally love this app as well. I love the look of film photos, the grain and feel they have. To me film photos have more character than new digital photography. Don't get me wrong, I like digital photography as well, it is much more convenient, it also gives you nice crisp, clean photos, and the editing process is definitely easier. You can check out the rest of his photos here and read a little blurb about them as well.

Ahhh...!! I know I've been MIA for awhile, I have been so busy, but I am going to work really hard to keep up with this! But I hope you enjoy these pictures!
